When I first read about this set in a little sidebar of Blocks Magazine a few months ago I was really excited about the concept! and just knew I would have to buy it when it was released. Fast forward and I've never clicked on a Facebook post from Lego so quickly when I saw it was finally release day for the set.
The set consists of three scenes of four women from NASA, the instruction booklet coming with a little bit of information about each woman and their work. The booklet also tells you about the woman who designed the set for Lego Ideas and the team behind bringing it to market! I absolutely love that it was a team of women that produced this set celebrating females within NASA and their contributions to science!
Margaret Hamilton developed the Navigation software for the Apollo space mission.
Mae Jamison was the first African American female astronaut to travel into space in 1992. Sally Ride was the first American female astronaut in 1983
Nancy G. Roman was one of the first female executives at NASA and was instrumental in the process of the Hubble Telescope.
The set was a joy to build with clear instructions, clever building techniques and neat design which came together quickly and with ease! The booklet was a wonderful insight into the careers of these women and female designers at Lego and I am very happy to have this within my collection.
